Basil Care 101

Basil is one of the easiest herbs for beginners and rewards you with fragrant leaves for months.

Light: Place in a bright spot with 6+ hours of sun, or under a grow light indoors.

Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but never soggy. Let the top inch dry between waterings.

Pinching: Pinch off the top set of leaves every couple of weeks to encourage a bushier plant and prevent early flowering.

Harvest: Snip leaves from the top down. Regular harvesting keeps the plant producing.
